Mayor Voss opened the meeting at 6:30 a.m.Members present,Beer,Scott, Shakespeare,
Stockton and Wainwright.City Engineer Dick.Ransom.
Variance was requested from Mick&Deanna Heintz,Fairfax Car Wash,to put in plastic PVC
instead of the required cast iron.Discussion followed,Beer stated that she was uncomfortable issuing the
variance and then changing the City Ordinance.Ransom said that the normal procedure was to issue the
variance and then change the Ordinance.
Stockton made the motion to allow the variance from cast iron to plastic PVC,2�Scott. Ayes
Beer,Scott,&Stockton,Nay Shakespeare. Wainwright abstained,
Motion to adjourn Scott,Td Wainwright at 7:00 a.m.

Michael & Deanna Heintz, d.b.a. Fairfax Car Wash would like
to request a meeting to oonsider allowing a variance on
the requirements set forth in the U.B.C. to change the cast
iron plumbing to plastic pvc pipe.

Our car wash uses PVC pipe in leu of
cast iron piping. We have experienced
no problems due to this change.

PART I—DRAINAGE SYSTEMS 701.3 Lead
