CITY COUNCIL MEETING
FEBRUARY 13, 2001
Work session on F'/Y 2`001/2002 Budget started at 6 p.m.Dick Ransom discussed bonds.
March 8, 2001 at 5 p.m.will be the public hearing on the F/Y 2001/2002 Budget.
Mayor Voss called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Council members present:Ekstrom,
Stockton,Wainwright and Scott„ Council Person Beer left at 7:00 p.m.
Motion Ekstrom,2nd Scott to approve the agenda,minutes of the January 9"'and January 30,
meetings,Clerk's Budget and financial reports. MC.
Marcus Soukup and Vern Cerveny presented an Eagle Scout Project.Marcus has created a
Cretan Maze for Prairie Creek Parr.Marcus will bring in more details for neat meeting.
Motion Ekstrom,2"d Scott to approve project.MC.
Sheriff Donald Zeller,Karl Kolz and Rick Haendler from the Lunn Co. Sheriff's Department
discussed the hours and service that is provided by the county.
Pat Callahan did a presentation on Ruan Securities for issuance of Municipal Bonds,
Larry Burger,from Speer Financial,did a presentation for issuance of Municipal Bonds,
Prank Scott,Prairie Roadbuildcrs,presented the contract for repairing the City's streets.
Motion Ekstrom,2"d Stockton to approve the contract for the coming road repair season.MC.
Nctolicky Construction presented the replat of 2"d Street.Motion Wainwright,2nd Ekstrom to have
Gordon Sevig vacate the 30 fl.utility easement between Lots 71 &51..MC.
Discussion on generator bids for#4 Lift Station and Tower.
Council Person Beer returned at 9;00 pan.
Gordon Sevig presented the preliminary plat of 147 lots for Prairie View Estates and the DOT
Agreement.Motion by Wainwright,2nd Stockton subject to the approval of the DOT on the frontage road.
Wildflower Court will need to be changed to a regular cut de sac,City will waive the 1320 ft.block length
requirement,the City will waive the every 700 ft.requirement for sidewalks but there will be sidewalks in
place in the front of properties.MC.
Library presented the annual donation from the Walford Bank of 14 magazine subscriptions,
Discussion of 28E Agreement. Dick will revise Agreement and send a copy to Dean Wheatley,
City of Cedar Rapids.
Motion Wainwright;2"d iEkstrom to approve Star Saloon Liquor License upon receiving
his check.MC.
