CITY OF FAIRFAX SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 21, 2004 Special meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Fairfax City Hall at 6:30 PM. Mayor Voss presided. Council members present: Frieden, Scott, Glick, Wainwright. Absent: Beer. Others present: Todd Whitters and Dave Yanecek, Due to the absence of the Deputy Clerlc, Councilor Scott took the minutes. Scott moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Glick. Roll call vote: Ayes: Frieden, Scott, Glick,Wainwright. Nays:None. Absent: Beer. Motion carried. The special meeting was called by Todd Whitters to discuss the City's Uniform Building Code requirements for construction materials. Whitters requested that Council change the Uniform Building Code to allow for the use of a product made by Celotex called Sturdy Brace Intermediate Sheathing. He stated that it is in compliance with the UBC Code,. The product is produced from cellulosic (recovered wood chips) interlaced fiber bonded with asphaltic binders. It is intended for use as insulation wall sheathing for residential and light commercial structures and has a thermal resistance (R-value) of 1.2 per %z inch. Glick moved to have an ordinance drafted to amend the City's Uniform Building Code allowing for the use of Sturdy Brace I tennediate Sheathing, seconded by Wainwright. Roll call vote: Ayes: Scott, Glick, Wainwright, Nays: Frieden. Absent: Beer. Motion carried. Frieden moved to adjourn, 7:15 PM,seconded by Scott. All in favor.
