Home My WebLink About02-05-2008 Special Meeing CITY OF FAIRFAX SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 5, 2008 A Special Meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at Fairfax City Hall at 5:30 PM. Mayor Voss presided. Council members present: Beer, Frieden, Rabe. Absent: Mgers,Wainwright. Frieden moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Rabe, Roll call vote: Ayes: Beer, Frieden, Rabe. Nays: None. Motion carried. Mayor Voss announced that this was the time and place for a public hearing on the matter of$350,000 refunding loan agreement. Notice of this hearing was published in the Cedar Rapids Gazette on January 18, 2008. There being no further comments or objections, Mayor Voss closed the public hearing at 5:3 5 PM. Frieden introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption, seconded by Beer. Roll call vote: Ayes: Beer, Frieden, Rabe. Nays; None. Motion carried. Whereupon the mayor declared the following duly adopted: Resolution 2008-03 entitled, "RESOLUTION TAKING ADDITIONAL ACTION TO ENTER INTO A LOAN AGREEMENT." Passed and approved this 5th day of February 2008. There being no further business before the council, Mayor Voss adjourned the meeting at 5:40 PM. The City Council hereby determines to enter into the Loan Agreement in the future and orders that General Obligation bonds or notes be issued in evidence thereof. The City Council further declares that this resolution constitutes the "additional action" required by Section 384.24A of the Code of Iowa. � I Section 2. All resolutions and orders or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this resolution, to the extent of such conflict, arc hereby repealed. Section 3.
