HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/16/2015 Council Minutes i I CITE' OF FAIRFAX SPECIAL CITE' COUNCIL MEETING f December 16, 2015 The special meeting of the Fairfax City Council was held December 16, 2015, at Fairfax city hall. Mayor Rabe called the meeting to order at 5:59 PM. Council members present: JoAnn Beer, Bernie Frieden, Travis Otto, Marc Magers, and Marianne Wainwright. Other city staff present: Cynthia Stimson, Devin Stensland, Dave Yanecek, and Brian Merta. Shane Wicks of Hall wid Hall Engineers, Inc. was also present. Mayor Rabe react a Proclamation designating Thursday, December 17, 2015, Vernon, Frances Cerveny .flay in Fairfax Iowa. Everyone thanked Vernon for his lifelong dedication to his hometown. Motioned by Magers, seconded by Otto to approve the agenda. Ayes: Beer, Frieden, Otto, Magers, and Wainwright. Nays:bone. Motion carried. Mayor Rabe administered the oath of office to Council Member Elect Joe Kell and presented him with the Certificate of Election. A proposed layout for the first portion to develop in the annexation area was reviewed. 190 lots are planned south of Beverly Road and approximately 300 north of Beverly Road. Shane Wicks lead a discussion of his 2015 Infrastructure Report. This report covers needs the City of Fairfax will have to consider once the annexation is completed. City Clerk/Treastir;er thanked) the outgoing mayor and council for their work and stated, it has been a joy working with them. Marc Magers stated that he has enjoyed his time and stated the new administration will have lots of opportunities to make improvements in Fairfax. Mayor Rabe discussed Zach Sobaski's request to remove a fence near the trail. Shane Wicks mentioned that the drainage ditch in the area needs to be maintained to keep the water off of the trail. Motioned by Magers, seconded by Otto to adjourn the meeting. Ayes: Beer, Frieden, Otto, Magers, and Wainwright. Nays:None. Motion carried. Mayor Rabe adjourned the meeting at 8:15 PM.
