THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCE IS IN EFFECT PLEASE BE ADVISED
ORDINANCE 261—THIS IS A SUMMARY OF THE ORDINANCE
JUNK,HOBBY VEHICLE'S AND JUNK VEHICLES
1. "Junk" reams all old or scrap coplacr brass,lead,or any other non-ferrous metal; old or disccarded
rope rags,batteries,paper trash, nuiblaen:, debris, waste or ansecl lumber, or salvaged wood; disrnantted
vehicles, machinery and appliances or parts of such vehicles machinery or appliances, iron, steel or
other Gild or scrap ferrous materials, old or discarded ,glass, tinware, plastic or old or discarded
household goods or hardware. Neatly stacked firewood located on a side yard or a rear yard is not
considered junk.
2, "Hobby vehicle"means an unlicensed motor vehicle,including but not limited to dragsters, stock
Special!points of Interest cars,Indy-type racers,midget racers,all-terrain,vehicles, dune buggies,go-carts,or competition pulling
garden or fam tractors.For the purpose of this chapter,golf carts,boat trailers,common utility trailers,
• Ordinance#261 camping trailers,camping trailers or snowmobile trailers are riot considered hobby vehicles.
3."Junk vehicle?'means any vehicle,which has any of the fallowing characteristics:
• Fairfax Fall Bazaar A_ Inoperable. Any vehicle not capable of being driven upon a public road under manufacturers
specifications.
* City Minutes B. Broken,hoose or Missing Part. Any vehicle with a broken,loose or missing windshield,window,
headlight,taillight,fender,door.,bumper,hood,steering wheel or trunk lid.
• Library News C. Habitat for Nuisance Animals or Insects. Any vehicle which has become the habitat for rats,
mice,or snakes,or any other vermin or insects.
• Bible Study D. Defective or Obsolete Condition. Any other vehicle which,because of its detective or obsolete
condition,in any other way constitutes a threat to the public health and safety.
• Fire Department News E' Unlicensed. Any vehicle that is not currently licensed.
Mere licensing of such vehicle shall not constitute a defense to the finding that the vehicle is a

4. "Vehicle"means every device in,upon,or by which a person or property is or may be transported

individuals would deem it necessary to upset and destroy a Port-0-Johnny,

parks. We have very nice park facilities and do not need this senseless

Here at the local post of the American Legion we at this
time reflect on the events of the past. September 11, 2001
stands out as a very tragic day in the history of our country.
The horrors of the attack upon our nation were vividly
shown by television and other media. A spirit of patriotism
was immediately rekindled in virtually every person from the
youngest to the oldest:. Post #572 invites all veterans to be a
