Mayor Voss sf, asked the council to discuss the conditions agreed upon by Union Pacific,Councilor Frieder addressed concerns of the conditions&the language that was omitted by Union Pacific. Randy Scholer discussed the preemption law„The railroad at this time is not looking to do this.Discussion about Surface Transportation Board,infraction to stop construction&obtain- ing a copy of Limn Co.conditions.Motion Beer 2"d Wainwright to open the Public Hearing on the rezoning application of Union Pacific Railroad Aye 5 MC.Mayor Voss declared the Public Hearing open at 7:23 PM.Each condition was read by the Clerk.Concexms were addressed by the public&council that the conditions agreed upon by Union Pacific are final. Mr. Bates of Union Pacific Railroad mentioned that the restriction of the commodities transported is not negotiable.The tree buffer can he negotiated,but keep it reasonable. If you haven't already had your furnace serviced,, it's now time. Have a professional heating technician check air plenums for cracks, belts for wear and bearings for lubrication. Preventative maintenance can help prevent furnace fires or a backup of carbon monoxide. For those of you who have wood stoves or fireplaces, please clean your chimneys. Make sure that no obstructions are at the top of the chimney or vent pipe of your furnace or hot water heater gas flue. Keep your firewood or any other combustibles away from your wood stove or fireplace. To all hunters in general, remember to take your cell phone along at all times. If you become injured or disabled, your cell phone may become your lifeline.
