Ron Dusiil reported that the Maintenance Department has been working on cleaning out the ditch on E.Southview Road.He also reported that the new snow plow is on the truck and ready. Jo Ann Beer reported that the Parks Committee is still waiting for to plant the trees in the new park once the leaves are off and they are also waiting for the trail to be done. Jason Rabe reported that the Visioning Committee is planning to do more planting around the South entryway sign. Mayor Voss announced that this was the time and place for a public hearing on the matter of Synergy Development Group,LLC Rezoning Classification Re- quest from 9 RS to 5 RM. Fred Wood discussed his concerns about the water'issues along E.Cemetery Road. Council assured him that they are working on potential solutions that will be discussed later on in the meeting. Doug Elllot,ECICOG,updated the Council on services that they offer,He will get back to the Council regarding whether the City of Fairfax should be booking for assistance from the MPO or ECICOG. The Sheriff's report was given by Deputy Taylor and the Call for Service Log was submitted and discussed„ Discussion was held on the SRF bond retirement and Sewer rates. Discussion was held on decorative banners.Council approved purchase of six of each style, Discussion was held on the Capital Improvements Plan.Regarding the water issue on E.Cemetery Road,the Council is unwilling to commit to doing the two- part fix through the Arp property when there is the possibility that one part will fix the problem.The CIP committee will meet again later this month, Magers moved to approve the Claims list,seconded by Frleden.Roll call vote:Ayes:Beer,Frieden,Magers„Rabe,Wainwright.Nays:None,Motion carried. For those of you who have cell phones, here is a bit of information on 911 communications: It was brought to our attention that if you have voice over internet service, protocol will connect you to 911,The problem is that it will not be able to automatically tell where you are calling from. You will have to personally tell the 911 operator your address or location. If you are having a medical problem and cannot clearly communicate this,it will delay our response time. The members of the fire department bid Ken Darnell, Sr.farewell after 28 years of dedicated service. Ken has decided it was time 'to retire and spend more time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. For the past 28 years Ken has been very active; his plate was always full. Ken was our secretary, an officer, an E.M.T., on Linn County H'azmat team, is still teaching CPR classes for the American Red Cross, a Red Cross volunteer who has traveled as far as New Orleans to help hurricane victims, and past president of the Lunn County Firefighters Association. Thank you Ken for being a dedicated volunteer firefighter from everyone that Is in our fire jurisdliction. Best of luck to you.
